Things That Are Cold: Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge

This week’s topic for Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge is things that are cold.

Snow on a fence and trees

I see a pattern with my images: they are mostly based on the weather. Snow and ice and cold is all I can think about. The temperatures will drop this weekend to their lowest of the winter so far.

snow on trees

I wonder how I would have done this challenge in the summer time? Maybe images of ice-cold drinks sitting out in the sun?

slide, playground, snow

Speaking of summer, it will be nice to get out to the parks and playgrounds again.

snow and ice on the lake with dried grass

Or go swimming in the lake.

dock, snow, ice, night, grass

Or go check out the marina near the beach.

Dried hydrangea in snow afternoon sunlight

Looking at flowers again in warm weather.

snow pile, stop sign

Or even just looking at stop signs without being reminded of snow.

ice frozen to a wall, icicles

But for now, my world is full of things that are cold. And that includes me!

  1. Seriously you need to consider a book with your pics. It would make a great coffee table book.
Your pics are stunning, and I am really sorry you are dealing with the cold….Stay warm 🙂

    1. Thank you, Lynne, for the confidence boost again 🙂 I will give it some thought! It’s funny because I love photography but just considered it a hobby, how exciting would it be to have a book out… Anyway, thanks for your warm wishes. I do like winter, but sometimes get carried away complaining about it 🙂 We’ll be fine, because after a cold weekend it’s going to warm up again, haha.

  2. These shots are amazing! I almost had to wrap myself up in a blanket LOL! Seriously, the imagery and relevance to the theme were great. I am following you as I can’t wait to see what is next 🙂

    1. Hi Lydia, thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment! I’m happy you enjoyed it, and I hope you didn’t get too chilly 🙂 Thanks again, and enjoy your Friday!

  3. Summer is all I can think of to, I am obsessed with thoughts of summer right now! I think you did a great job representing cold in these pictures!
This weekend has been the coldest it’s been all winter here too, bah!!

    1. Thanks, Dana! I can’t believe how cold it’s been this weekend. I hope you are staying warm! Slightly better weather ahead this week at least. Spring is close, we’ll get there!

  4. Oh my goodness, these are wonderful photos! You’re a great photographer, Cynthia! February is obviously a freezing month for you out there. It looks magnificent, but I imagine you all need your woolly socks and vests on! haha. Winter has been a mild one here – no snow at all in my area, and very little frost. It almost seems like spring is almost here on some days. Thanks for sharing those superb views,

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely compliments! I’m happy that you like my photos! Yes it does get quite cold here, in fact last night and today were the coldest it’s been all winter. There have been offical warnings because the wind chill factor has been as low as -15F, which can cause frostbite and hypothermia if you’re not properly bundled up. Thankfully I’ve been able to stay indoors. Some places in this area have broken records this weekend for low temperatures!

I'd love to hear your thoughts
