Finally this year I was able to visit the beach during winter. I had always wanted to go there during its offseason, just to know what it was like to walk next to the ocean in opposite weather of what I’m used to.
It was as beautiful, windy, and cold as I had guessed it would be.

I’ve never been to the beach in winter. My theme is to brainstorm a new historical novel I will write during NaNoWriMo in November. Joe visiting from the Fiction Playground during the A to Z Challenge
For me it was worth checking out, and I will go again next winter. The ocean is magical no matter what the weather.
I agree, I have had many dreams of the ocean and the strangest are with my home mountains behind.
I’d love to see snow on a beach. They seem such opposites, don’t they? Cool post, Cynthia.
Thanks! Yes it was an interesting contrast. We picked up shells while bundled up in winter coats. Many of the beach town’s shops were closed, but a few stay open all year. Same beautiful ocean though, indifferent to the seasons or the people on its shores.
