We went apple picking in early October.
A little late in the season, but there were still plenty of delicious varieties.
I loved the way this little apple family was snuggled together.

Yes, I too love to see snuggled apple families on the tree!! Last year I wanted to go apple picking in October, and was told the season started in August and all the apples were gone. boo hoo
I hope you get a chance to go next year! It all depends on your region. Usually in NJ, mid-September is prime apple-picking season but of course it varies due to the weather.
Yes, I always assumed that. But I guess in California apples start earlier, and of course, the weather does change the season. There is a new law, they cannot use any apples that hit the ground, even for juice or applesauce, it seems so wasteful. Something about fear of pathogens from the ground, but cannot the juice be pasteurized???
Wow, that’s a bummer about that law. I guess it was made for good reason, but I agree that it does seem wasteful.
Beautiful photos Cynthia!
Thanks, Antonia!
