Some lovely rhododendron bushes are blooming outside and it got me wondering about the name and whether or was related to the name Rhoda so after a look on Wikipedia I found that rhodon is the ancient Greek word for rose, which is also the meaning of Rhoda, but not related to how the city and island of Rhodes got its name (contrary to popular belief) because that has its roots in mythology, according to Discover-Rhrodes.com.
Good day for a wiki spiral.
I love what you did here with the word rhododendron; I do that sort of thing all the time, but did not know it had a name: wiki spiral. That is great!! By the way, when I clicked on your photo, it became gorgeously large on my big screen. Is there a setting on WordPress that enables a person to do that?
Thank you, Carol! Yes my husband teases me about my habit of wiki spiraling haha. I spend so much time doing that, but it’s relaxing and interesting. Glad you can relate 🙂 As for the photo, I believe you can set the default photo size in your media library. So it shows up as small, medium, or large in your posts, but then expands to full size if someone clicks it. I’ll investigate and get back to you.
This is a gorgeous rhodie. I just love them.
Thank you, Cee! They are lovely aren’t they? A must when I get a house with a yard.
