Day 23, The Flower Rocket Experiment: Still Boring. Plus, a pea plant.

So, we’re on Day 23. Again, not much has changed. Maybe this just takes a while to get going.

Maybe my impatience is a hint to why I don’t start flowers from seed 🙂 Well, that and because I don’t have any space in which to do so.

Vegetables are different though. Those seeds I like to plant because they grow quickly. Well, some of them anyway. I don’t plant the slow ones. Or the ones that grow deep. Or the creeping ones. Actually I don’t have a lot of space to work with, just a few containers on my balcony, so before it starts to sound like I’m getting a bit whiny, just remember that I don’t have the real estate to grow all the wonderful things I’d like.

I love the way this pea plant grew. It’s bigger now and looking for something to climb.

  1. I enjoyed reading about your problems. 😄
I’m going to have some too. Problems that is. I bought five or six of these Flowers Rockets, thinking I’d get right home and immediately plant them and put them in a windowsill. But I pretty much forgot about them. I do not have a green thumb. Winter was coming. I live up North so it gets cold. Figured I wouldn’t get around to planting them outside anyway since I live downtown and there’s no flowerbeds anywhere. I put the boxes in the refrigerator. I’m not really sure why… But food lasts longer refrigerated so……
Now it’s September. I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to be planted in the Spring. Also it’s been maybe four years…
I think I’ll be fortunate to get even weeds out of these. The new grocery store in my neighborhood sells lovely potted flowers though so I’ll be able to get some color in here no matter what happens.

    1. Hi Lydianon, thanks for sharing. I know it’s been a while, so how did it go with the flower rockets? Any success? I hope you have overflowing pots of flowers and not stragglers like I had 😀

I'd love to hear your thoughts
